"The 2017 Syrah Spanish Springs is dark, dense and wonderfully inviting. Black cherry, plum, licorice and dark spices emerge from the glass but only with a good bit of reluctance. Readers should plan on cellaring the 2017 for a year or two, as the wine really needs bottle age to develop the full breadth of its aromatics. Today, the 2017 is far more expressive on the palate, but the best is yet to come."
